Spring is a great time for catching up with nature. This picture is definitely over-exposed -- for at least 3 stops. However, without the over-exposure, the leaves would not be translucent, and they would be rendered a mess of dark green. But the over-exposure also distorted the color of the vines and brought about serious fringing problems. In no way could be be considered a technically satisfactory picture, but I love the look and the resulting color palette. One surprise is the "blown highlights", they don't exist! The background, which is the over-exposed sky, is about 235, just shy of blown. I don't know how the camera handed this, but it definitely is a pleasant surprise.
