Plum Blossom |
A lone plum blossom tree in the morning, dew stilling clinging to its petals. This is the exact opposite of the last post -- the picture was under-exposed for 2 1/2 stops. I was getting more and more enamored with this very common flower, especially when the whole tree was flowering. It may not beat the Sakura (cherry blossom) in the beauty hall of fame, but I am beginning to understand the thousands of verses celebrating the blossoming of the flowers -- probably because of my age. When I was young, I only noticed that there were flowering trees here or there, but never stopping to "smell the flowers", so to speak. Life is full of challenges, the flowers will blossom next spring...... As we age, we start to wonder how many more flowering seasons are we able to see, even the number could be tens. The cruel fact is, the number is definite. We went so far as to to make long trips for the sole purpose of watching flowers....... and taking pictures along the way (I hope to be able to follow that sequence, not the other way around -- take pictures and watch the pictures of flowers at home). Oh, here's a picture of a full blossoming Plum tree.
