Long shadows

6 am at the pier

We were cramped onto the narrow verandah overlooking the pier below, since 4 in the morning, when there was nary any light, busy capturing the actions unfolding in the last 2 hours.  We watched the sun showing its first rays through the distance islands, then grew into a golden globe, and now beginning to show its fiery power, casting long shadows of the crowd onto the broken pavement.  Nothing spectacular with this scene, life just goes on.
