Image quality

The barren tree

The picture isn't particularly sharp, and there isn't much detail too.... The question is, of course, do we need all the resolution and "image quality" in a picture like this, and is enough really enough?  Taken with a 12 Mega Pixel camera, with a "consumer" high power zoom.
