Hovering fall colors

October 2010
Someone ask over the Internet: "Which camera produce the best skin tone?"
I have been hearing all sorts of comments like this for ages, and I think this is a trick question, 'cos it was asked by someone who is knowledgeable about photography.  He shouldn't have asked this question.  I don't think anyone could answer this question.  It could only be answered by a  series of questions: Jpeg right out of the camera? Auto white balance? Auto exposure? What ISO?  Bright sunlight/overcast/shadow/artificial light -- strobes/flashlights/LEDs/incandescent? Complexion? How do you define good skin tone -- of a 50 years old female/25 years old male/8 years old kid..... RAW converter? Lens used? If printed, on what paper? What printing process? If viewed on screen, which monitor (may be independent of any properly calibrated monitor)?  Oh Mi......
This picture was taken around 4:00pm, when the sun had set below the ridges surrounding the ravine.  I was able to render the background an underexposed mish mash, and with the dark trunks, the bright orange leaves looked like they were hovering.....
Which camera produced the best fall foliage colors?  The camera you have right there....
