Tree under the Great Wall

It is spring and the tree is at its prime time of the seasons, especially under this morning sun.  The air is crisp, the sun is warm, and the tourists are starting to arrive, but all is quiet, still. 
I remember I was jubilant, seeing this magnificent great heritage of our ancestors, a huge achievement, although not for the betterment of humanity -- it was built to divide, to avoid being conquered, to segregate.  But amongst all these thoughts, I was immersed in this simple joy of watching this tree.
