A picture of the moon

The Moon
I took this picture.  (All pictures on this blog are all taken by me, so it is a bit pointless.) I mean, I actually took the trouble and set up the tripod, mount the longest lens I ever had, and snap several pictures of the moon.  If I need a picture of the moon, I can just Google and I'll get exactly (more or less because we earthlings are all seeing the same side of the moon.  So taking a picture of the moon is, well, not exactly the most exciting thing to do.  What do I get out of shooting the moon?  I realised I never actually study the face of the moon as I should have, and because I have to worry about correct exposure (believe me, the camera won't get the right exposure for you......), camera steadiness and then evaluate the file when post-processing, I actually got to carefully study the face of the moon, after all these years looking up the night sky and found a full moon once every month!  So if you're bored at night, try to take some pictures of the moon, it sure would take up a good part of the night.
Tell you what, I'm planning to do this again in the next full moon, this time with a completely set of equipment.  Stay tuned for what's coming out of this boring exercise!

  1. Good question!! Why not.
It never occur to me that a new moon is still a good representation of the moon, To me, in order to take a picture of the moon, one must wait for the full moon in order to get the "whole moon". That's my thought process -- lopsided.
