I was visiting this place without a camera, but then it's iPhone to the rescue again!! In a pinch, and with much care and attention, like managing any other point-and-shoot camera, you can always come up with "use-able" pictures -- depending on how you define "use-able". I had the original file post-processed in Lightroom and sometimes I can't tell it was taken by a phone camera -- it was just like a picture taken without much attention..... Come to think of it, the phone camera may have processing power much higher than your average point-and-shoot camera. It just lacked the bigger sensor and dedicated circuitry for focusing and other controls like exposure compensation and color temp and the like.....
