A sunny afternoon |
Sometimesyou have to believe in your own intuition. I was just playing around with the idea of compressing the several sunlit areas in the side street for an interesting composition, and I felt that a few human figure would add some reality to the otherwise out-of-this world feel of the scene, and I just pressed my shutter when I was busy composing and focusing and determine my final crop, and these few shadows just appeared in my viewfinder (see the importance of a good viewfinder??). I just fired out of intuition. In retrospect, the crooked figure added more than just interest to the picture, it almost became the center of interest of the picture. This is one of those pictures you have to print big in order to see the fine details, to traverse around the very busy compositional elements, and the appreciate the wide tonal variations. It is really a matter of personal taste whether you like this picture, but I believe there is enough (too much?) in the picture to spend a few more seconds.
