The performer was supposed to entertain, but apparently for the little child, the outer-space-esque outfit was a bit overboard.  Fortunately she's with her most trusted person - and her embrace was more than comforting.
A pattern seems to emerge with my street photography, especially with people as subject (what else could be the subject of street photography?) -- I tend to put them at the far sides.  My thought process is to let the audiences see the big picture first, that is whatever is occupying the center. Now that they know what, where and when, then they would wander off to find something more interesting, and my subject would then come into play.
