If you haven't been there, you may be fascinated by this picture... Errr, no, you probably were fascinated by the scenery.  The picture is just one of those -- you stood at the right spot, you met with right weather, you had a decent camera with you, wham! You had a picture of a fascinating scenery.  If you've been there, and when you see this picture, you'll probably say: "I got one of these pictures". 
Regardless, it is always nice to have "one of those pictures" of your own, and that's part of the fun being a serious amateur.  Unlike pros, we don't need to be unique. We just need to have fun doing whatever we are doing.  Yes, we spend serious money, lots of our spare time, just to get "one of these pictures".  Ask serious amateur golfers why they spend so much time on the golf course -- they just want to have fun.
