Victoria Park |
It was an incredible scene-- thousands of people, each with a candle, hands raised, in a pitch dark park, all united for one purpose. One had to be present to feel the atmosphere, and aesthetically, this is surreal. I think the fish-eye lens is perfect for the scene, the curved horizon provided the sense of depth, the perspective bonds the near with the far. I don't want to discuss the purpose of the crowd, here, I just want to show the beauty of the evening.
I didn't bring a tripod, I was part of the crowd, and I shouldn't bring anything more than the rest of the crowd. The relatively fast fish-eye lens, together with the exceptional sensitive modern sensor make this shot possible.
