A bite of nostalgia

London, England
Actually I don't need the caption for this picture, the unique scene could only be captured in London, and in past tense.  They abandoned the ubiquitous red double-decker with the unique design that lasted, err... since 1954.  They were noisy, black exhaust fuming, and cramped.  the climb to the upper deck was particularly acrobatic, and the stairs inconveniently located at the very end of the bus, a design dated back to the 1950's, when the pace for everyday life was much more leisurely.  The drovers was isolated in his cabin, which was an ingenious design, but proved to be off-syn with today's requirement for multitasking for the driver.  Life goes on, so be it, no matter how much nostalgia you have with this piece of London history.
I captured this with a point&shoot first generation digital camera with a 1.9M pixels sensor, my iPhone comes with more pixels, but heck, I traveled and took some great pictures with it.  It was taken at 6:30pm on a March day in 2002, from the headlight of the bus, it must have been quite dark already, but it didn't show in the picture at all.  I still believe the 1.9M pixels are all fine pixels, unlike those 14M that were cramped onto the recent p&s cameras of similar sensor size.
