The shadow was cast by the neighboring building at 3:15pm. It was exactly at this time that the shadow becomes interesting. Maybe it's just me, I was always watching shadows in the city as they change the cityscape every minute with the earth on its constant move, and it is not the same everyday as the season changes. But who would sit and watch the shadow move? If you dare, yes, it moves, much faster than you think. Often when I see a good pattern formed by the shadows, I may not have enough time to capture it because I may not be in the right vantage point, I may not have the right camera/lens combination, the sun could suddenly hide behind the clouds, or may be I was too busy with other things.
