A river amidst the Rockies |
This is one of my favorite pictures -- the river meandered in the valley, the snow capped mountains afar. Varying contrast provided the sense of depth. The valleys were filled with a haze, while the top of the ridges were clear due to the frigid air at the higher altitude. How did I take this picture? Hmm.... I took it out of the airplane window on a flight passing over the Rockies! Easy, isn't it. It's a stroke of luck -- as the plane was moving, the perspective was quickly changing. A few seconds later, the river would be obscured and the picture would be a different story. I had to do some heavy duty post-processing, as with all airborne pictures.
